Are hypoalergenic and nonshedding the same?
Written by Stefany SandersPoodles are hypoallergenic largely because they do not shed. They have hair that continues to grow much like human hair rather than shedding seasonally. That is why poodles need to be groomed regularly. Likewise poodles do not have the typical dog dander that causes so many human allergies. Poodles are very clean and do not cause dirty spots on upholstery or walls. Golden doodles inherit these traits from their poodle ancestry, insuring that humans who are allergic to even golden retrievers are not allergic to golden doodles. They do not have doggie oder or dander. They shed only their baby hair and their undercoat in summer if they are not groomed.
Our pups really are noshedding adult dogs. I recently heard from the owner of a pup from a previous litter who is almost full grown now. Here is what she said about shedding.
“As for the shedding, none at all! I groom her everyday and get a bit of hair in the brush but no shedding at all. In fact, I wear tons of black clothes and she can be all over me and I don't have one hair on me.
Besides her wonderful personality, the no shedding is incredible.
I can't tell you how much I love this dog. She a true best friend!
Thanks, Arlene “
If I am allergic to other animals, can I be sure I will not be allergice to your dogs?
Written by Stefany AdminWe have only had one occasion when a client developed allergy sysmptoms while playing with our puppies. In that case the child was allergic to the saliva, not the dander or dog hair. Our dogs are very intellegent and learn quicly not to lick people when trained. Other than training I don't think there is an anwer to a saliva allergy. Even clients who have been forced to give up previous pets due to a dander or hair allergy are not allergic in the least to our dogs.
What is the ancestry of your dogs?
Written by Stefany SandersBoth our female and male golden doodles were bred at one of the finest kennels in the world. As a matter of fact, Tropico Kennels, the birth home of our dogs ship pupppies all over the world, show championship dogs and regularly have their dogs in Hollywood movies and television shows. Since Tropico is such a large establishment, they can breed golden doodles from their championship golden retrievers and poodles without ever crossing bloodlines. Our dogs were both born on the same day, August 28, 2004, from completely separate parents. Rio's sire is a red standard poodle and his dam is a prize winning American platinum retriever. Aspen's sire is a white standard poodle and her dam is a golden retriever. Their puppies will be F2 of the best stock. Tropico only breeds F1 golden doodle puppies and keeps no golden doodle breeding stock.
I am often asked why I breed F2 goldlen doodles rather than F1. When I began breeding I found the finest golden doodles I could, with the very best ancestry and conformation. thereforeI was more sure to get puppies as perfect as their parents, and my hope has proved correct. All the pictures of grown puppies from my sire and dam show they are as beautiful as their parents with excellent conformation, endearing dispositions and intelligence to make them very successful trained agility and assistance dogs.
